Hy-Lo Snare Drum – Blue Sparkle 14” – Vintage MIJ Drum

Hy-Lo 14” Snare Drum in blue sparkle. The drum is complete as far as I can tell, but I’m not very knowledgeable about MIJ drums so please take a look at the pictures. When I first got the drum I disassembled it, cleaned the shell and polished all the chrome parts so for the most part the pictures show it in a detailed condition, meaning it likely won’t clean up much more than is shown. I posted about this drum a while ago on the fb group when I got it, it was fun cleaning it up thinking I was going to piece together an orphan kit, but like the other drum I have listed, the blue’s just don’t match each other closely enough so I’m not going to do the project.
The wrap is in pretty good shape, no discoloration or cracks or warps. There’s noticeable pitting on the chrome throughout. And light rust stains on the interior of the shell around where the washers touched the shell (see pics). Structurally, however, everything is pretty solid and the strainer and wires function as they should. Edges are good and the re-ring is solid with a stable butt-joint.
